WMC employs every tactic and spares no expense to create a public policy environment favorable to its corporate agenda. WMC reinforces its' corporate message through talking points, lobbying, issue sheets, press releases, editorial columns, surveys, polls, millions of dollars in issue advertisements. WMC even creates and distributes "awards" to such admirable corporations as Wal-Mart.

WMC’s stream of propaganda appears limitless. The endless material it places before the media, elected officials and in smear campaigns broadcast on radio and television and even delivered in the mail has had an impact. The sustained message of “Your taxes are too high,” belies the real truth – that business taxes are average and income taxes have only been raised once on the top one percent of income earners in the past 40 years.

The success of WMC and its national affiliate have been a disaster for the middle class and caused a reduction in government revenues paid previously by millionaires, billionaires and the corporations they own. The lost revenue from tax shelters and tax cuts for the rich have caused critical public programs that help seniors, the disabled, the poor and children to go without support.

The corporate-driven deregulation of the financial and banking industry has plunged America into its biggest economic collapse since the Great Depression. And Americans, with ever-rising expenses, are saddled with crushing debt, including college students, many of whom will live life as virtual indenture servants to 30-year student loans – paying off the debt for an education, rather than buying a home, which used to be the way one knew they had reached the middle class.
